The Summer House is situated close to a number of restaurants and bars. It's a few minutes drive to Verteillac, Cherval, Gout Rosignol and other local villages which have cafes, bars and restaurants. So there is a great choice of eateries in the area and beyond. There are even a few five star restaurants within easy reach of the house.
This idyllic region is famous for producing rich dishes using locally sourced and traditional ingredients. From simple bar food, to a typical Plat de Jour lunch or fine dining, there is a variety of places for families to enjoy a drink or a meal out. There are many more restaurants especially in Angouleme or Perigeaux.
There are regular markets each week along with farmers markets in local villages. Riberac has one of the largest markets in the Périgord area every Friday morning. It is a bustling, busy market throughout the year. Great fresh produce, prepared fois gras, hot and cold meats, cheeses, seafood and all sorts of delicious goodies are available along with clothes, arts and crafts. There is often live music being played in the square to entertain visitors in the summer creating a lively buzz and atmosphere. The bars and cafes are open and it always proves to be a great day out for the entire family.
